HEPA Dust Extractors
Festool HEPA dust extractors have been evaluated by an independent laboratory and are now considered to be Full Unit HEPA Certified.
What does this mean?
HEPA certification, a full HEPA sealed unit, HEPA filters and a certificate of compliance will let you work as a fully compliant RRP contractor. Festool Dust Extractors, starting at less than $400, now stand alone in an arena where previously a vacuum of this caliber would cost a user $2,000 or more.Festool Dust Extractors will soon begin shipping with HEPA certification, stickers, filters and certificates. Certain Festool dust extractors will qualify for retroactive certification once they have received their, free of charge, updated HEPA filter replacement.

Dust control is an integral part of the Festool system and design philosophy. That is why the CT 26 is equipped with tool-triggered auto start functionality so that when you plug your tool into the supplied outlet socket, the vacuum cycles with the tool. This represents greater efficiency in dust extraction, noise reduction, and with less energy consumption versus a constant-on unit.
Variable suction force allows you to regulate the suction based on your tasks. A small detail sander may not require the full 137 CFM of this unit, but a router may require it. This unit comes standard our new self-cleaning bag which prevents dust particles from caking inside the bag which reduces suction. We further optimize efficiency with the low-profile, flat-top design that allows the CT top to double as a tool rest as well as an integrated hose garage and docking station that allows the connection of Festool Systainers (not included) for easy transport and storage.
The low center of gravity, integrated center handle, and extra large wheels make navigating rough terrain in the shop or jobsite easy without tipping over. A parking brake can even be locked to prevent unintentional roll off or drifting. The supplied 11-1/2 ft. anti-static (AS) hose is long enough for power tool and general work site clean up tasks. For wet (water) clean up tasks, the CT will shut off automatically when full thanks to Level Stop technology.
With an industrial design for heavy use the CT is equipped with over 24 feet of 12 gauge cord. A cord wrap is supplied to attach to the rear of the unit. With 137 CFM and only 62 dB (on the low setting), the CT 26 can quickly and quietly remove large amounts of debris, with minimal noise. A HEPA filter comes standard and offers the ultimate in clean air and filtration. The CT 26 is a good choice for the shop or the jobsite for all your power tool extraction and clean-up needs.

RRP Full Unit Certified HEPA Vacuums
A Full Unit Certified HEPA dust extractor is the only one that helps to
shield you from hefty fines and meets EPA RRP regulation guidelines!
Every Festool CT Dust Extractor model in circulation has been tested and certified, independently, to be FULL Unit HEPA Dust Extractors. If purchasing a new Festool CT Dust Extractor, no matter what model, there will be a printed certificate within the box. In addition to this, the Full Unit HEPA certification will appear documented on the label of the dust extractor itself. If you currently have a vacuum that has only a HEPA filter but is not FULL Unit HEPA Certified, you can be cited for non-compliance with EPA RRP regulations. In short, there’s no existing substitute for Full Unit HEPA Certification if using your vacuum for RRP.
A HEPA filter is only as good as its seal with the vacuum.
If no printed certificate was received, read the below instructions regarding how to obtain your certification.
You may be asking yourself, “What’s so special about Full Unit HEPA Certification?”
Remodelers who do RRP are going to want a dust extractor that helps to ensure they aren’t fined for non-compliance with RRP regulations. Some manufacturers meet just part of the RRP regulations that require a HEPA filter, but you also need be sure these manufacturers meet the requirement for "no bypass leakage." This important requirement is easily overlooked and can lead to being slammed with hefty fines! However, when you’re using a Festool CT HEPA Dust Extractor, RRP tasks can be performed with the peace of mind that the vacuum you’ve chosen fully complies with RRP regulations.
If you’re wondering, “What do EPA’s RRP inspectors and instructors think
regarding Festool’s claims of Full Unit HEPA Certification?”
It will be no small wonder if RRP inspectors see Festool’s Full Unit HEPA Certification as the new staple by which to measure all other manufacturers. Especially since the certification fully meets all the requirements regarding RRP regulations and other manufacturers simply meeting part of those requirements. Bill Robinson, an EPA RRP instructor had this to say:
"I've been using the Festool CT 26 for over a year, and I can tell you that as a contractor, consultant and RRP instructor I'm very excited to know that I can use my CT dust extractor and Festool sanders to comply with the EPA regulations regarding containment, collection and cleaning of lead dust particles. And not only does it meet these very strict regulations, but it's built sturdy and sized for easy transport to and from the jobsite."
